Try out a different reading of the stance labels and see what it would do to the 2026 General Synod. A scenario is your own what-if: it is never the evidence-based position, and it never changes the real data.
Choose members in the list (filters first, then tick them, or tick all those shown), then reassign them to another label. Repeat until you are happy, then save the whole scenario.
The core, evidence-based label always stays beside the scenario label, and every result below shows the core figure beside the scenario one.
Only labels change. Votes, counts, first preferences, ages and every other fact stay exactly as they are, and vote transfers are not re-run.
Saved scenarios stay in your own browser only; nothing is sent anywhere or added to the project. Use Export file to keep a copy or to move a scenario to another browser.
1. Your scenario
What do these buttons do?
New scenario: starts a blank scenario with every label at its core value.
Save: keeps the scenario in this browser under its name (replacing its earlier saved version).
Save as a copy: keeps a second, separate copy under a new name, so you can try a variation without losing the first.
Delete this saved scenario: removes the saved version from this browser only.
Open scenario box: your comment, the steps you took and every changed member, core label beside scenario label.
Export file: downloads the scenario as a file to keep, send to someone, or load into another browser.
Copy scenario code: the same content as text on the clipboard, to paste into Import.
Import a scenario: loads a file or pasted code as your working scenario.
Undo last change and Reset to core labels: step back one reassignment, or clear all of them.
Show this scenario in an explorer
Each button copies the scenario code and opens that explorer in a new tab. In the explorer, press Load a scenario and paste (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) into the box. The explorers are separate pages, so they cannot read your saved scenarios directly.
2. Choose members and reassign them
The list opens on the members elected in 2026. Show other people, or narrow the list, with the controls; filters never change a label.
Click a row, or its box, to tick it. Click a member or election name to open its box instead. "Select all shown" ticks every row that matches the filters, on every page; the box in the heading row ticks only the rows on this page. Ticks outside the current list are dropped when the filters change.
Then choose the label to reassign the ticked members to. Members already in that label are left as they are.
Three labels: Conservative and Likely conservative are combined as All conservative, Likely revisionist and Revisionist as All revisionist. Reassigning to All conservative or All revisionist sets the firm label (Conservative or Revisionist) for anyone not already in that group.
Show
Labels
The scenario label shows the core label beside it wherever it has been changed. Changed members are marked with an outline.
3. What the scenario does
Every figure shows the core (evidence-based) figure beside the scenario figure; "Change" is scenario minus core. Results are given for each House. Bishops appear only if you have changed a bishop candidate.
Underlined figures are clickable: they open the list of candidates or elections behind the number, and each name opens its box.
The 2026 members counted are those elected in the data: Clergy, Laity and the elected suffragan bishops. Diocesan bishops, ex officio and appointed members are not in the stance data, so this is not a forecast of every vote in Synod.
Overall labels for each constituency and the shift from the last Synod use the same rules as the Stance Explorer.
First-preference shares use the real votes; only the grouping of candidates by label changes.
